Choose a node
Use the node type that matches the step: an action for work to perform, a decision for a question with branches, and an outcome or handoff where a route finishes or moves elsewhere.
Add a typed pathway nodeChoose Add pathway step, place the node on the canvas, and select the shape that matches the clinical step.
Connect the flow
Drag from a node handle to the next step. Label branches with specific answers such as Yes and No, or with the threshold that determines the route. Avoid crossing connectors where a simpler layout is possible.
Connect two pathway stepsTurn on Connect nodes, then select the source and destination nodes in clinical reading order.Label a decision branchSelect the connector, add its branch text, and save a short answer such as Yes or No.
Add the required nodes.
Connect them in clinical reading order.
Label every ambiguous decision branch.
Use automatic layout when the graph becomes difficult to scan.
Run Pathway checks and Test pathway from the editor header.
